SCORE: You say you worked in a bra factory. What did you do there?
Cathy: I used to pack them. [Laughs] Not in that sort of way. I would put them in boxes before we shipped them. I was about 15, a little spring chicken. Now I'm really packing them. [Giggles]
SCORE: What did you plan on doing for a living at the time?
Cathy: Well, I did plan to go to college to do catering. I wanted to be a chef. But I was offered this part-time job in the summer, and I figured, I'm making more money than I would be making in college. So I stayed at the factory. And then I was asked to start modeling the bras for the factory.
SCORE: Were you naked?
Cathy: No. I never had to be naked.
SCORE: Were you comfortable right away with modeling? Cathy: Well, I was a bit nervous at first, but I enjoyed it. And I got paid for it. Then I was asked to do a shoot for a tattoo shop in Bristol. It was body piercing. I already had my nipples pierced. SCORE: When did you have your nipples pierced?
Cathy: Around the time I was getting into the glamour industry and out of the factory. They hired this professional model, but she didn't show up.
SCORE: How old were you?
Cathy: Oh, God, I was about 18. And, of course, I had my belly button pierced, and my little thing down there...my little ding-a-ling. Then they asked me back every three months to stand in for them. And when I first did the shoot, I thought, What have I gotten myself into? They kept asking me back. Then I was asked to do a photo shoot for a radio station here in Bristol called Galaxy 101. They used my nipple ring on the billboard in Bristol. A glamour photographer saw it, and that's how I started into the glamour industry.
